A Nation which forgets its Defenders, will itself be forgotten.
Camp Hope for Heroes is dedicated to serving our transitioning and homeless veterans so they may be self-sufficient in our communities, and not forgotten Warriors, while working in a positive role with Local, State, and National Organizations.
According to the Veterans Homelessness:
A Supplemental Report to the 2010 Annual Homeless Assessment Report to Congress
On a single night in January 2010 76,329 veterans were living in emergency shelters, transitional housing, or in an unsheltered place
43% of these veterans were unsheltered
These veterans are largely between the ages of 31 and 61 with a disability
13,000 homeless veterans are younger veterans between 18 and 30 which is about 9% of the homeless veterans population
Female veterans are especially at high risk of homelessness
